ABOUT KEVIN LAINEZ
A Commitment to Thoughtful, Family-Oriented, Community-Focused Leadership!
I am a proud husband, father of two boys and have served our community over the past 5 years on the I-710 Committee, Planning and Traffic commissions.
I decided to move to the City of Commerce over 10 years ago because I wanted to raise my family in a close-knit community that offered world-class programs and services to their residents. Shortly after moving here, I became actively involved in our community
by advocating for fair wages from new businesses trying to relocate in Commerce. I’ve led and/or participated in community cleanups, food and toy drives, as well as delivering care packages to many of our seniors, particularly during the pandemic when many really needed help the most.
I have served as Chairperson of our Planning Commission and worked to thoughtfully bring forward new and exciting projects to develop our city’s infrastructure and diversify our city’s revenue sources to ensure better financing for our municipal services and contracts. I also served on the I-710 Committee and currently serve on the Traffic Commission as Vice-Chairperson and as a member on the Sustainable Transportation Equity Program (STEP) Advisory Committee where I’m voicing recommendations to make this city more sustainable by improving our public transportation infrastructure.
With your support, I would love to continue serving our community in a larger and more meaningful capacity.
At the end of the day, I want to make this a healthier and safer community for our families and set The Model City up for long-term success for our children, grandchildren and future generations to come.
